First, define 'value' and 'lifetime'
For Airbnb, baseline Listing Lifetime Value (LTV) means predicting the total bookings a listing will secure over the next 365 days. They achieve this using Machine Learning models trained on detailed listing data.

But how does one listing affect others? 
To account for marketplace dynamics, they calculate incremental LTV. This isolates the unique value a listing adds, subtracting bookings that would have simply gone to other listings (cannibalization), using sophisticated supply/demand modeling.

What about adapting to real-time changes?
Crucially, LTV isn't static. Estimates are updated daily based on actual accrued bookings, ensuring accuracy despite market shifts (like pandemics) and informing smarter strategic growth decisions.
